The article investigates and analyzes the influence of the ascosporogenesis phase on biochemical processes related to the synthesis and accumulation of lipids in the yeast Debaryomyces etchellsii. Also, these yeast were analyzed for their biotechnological potential in lipid accumulation and through a literature review, the factors affecting the synthesis of lipids by this type of yeast were studied. This research is useful for the development of biodiesel based on microbial lipids.
