VOF MODELING OF THE TRANSITION BETWEEN DRIPPING AND JETTING REGIMES IN A MICROFLUIDIC GENERATOR

Microfluidic droplet generators produce uniform emulsions for oil-based polymerase chain
reaction (oilPCR), where droplet quality depends on the dripping-jetting regime. A Volume of Fluid
(VOF) simulation of a flow-focusing generator with two parametric cases (Ca = 0,066-0,083,
λ=0,97-1,21) shows that flow velocity is the primary factor controlling the regime transition.
