This paper analyzes transforming industrial wastewater treatment towards circular biotechnological complexes integrating anaerobic digestion for biogas with biosorption and bioelectrochemical systems to recover energy and recycle heavy metals (Pb, Zn, Cr, Ni, Cu). It highlights advanced synergies using modified consortia, hybrid materials, and digital twins for adaptive control in sustainable production.
