The study focuses on selecting and substantiating the optimal microbial producer for isobutanol synthesis from lignocellulosic biomass. A comparative analysis of the metabolic features of E. coli, S. cerevisiae, and C. glutamicum was conducted. Factors affecting process efficiency, including carbon flux architecture, inhibitor tolerance, and sugar co-utilization, were investigated. The most promising microbial platform for technology scaling was identified.
