Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine that plays a key role in regulating immune responses and maintaining immune homeostasis. This study examines current approaches to the development of recombinant microbial strains capable of producing IL-10 using regulated expression systems and inducible promoters for potential biomedical applications.
