Fungi have been reported to exhibit significant antioxidant activities due to the content of such compounds as phenolic acids, phenylpropanoids, flavonoids, lignin, melanin, tannins etc. For that reason, there is an increasing interest in exploring biological activities, including antioxidants of fungal extracts at different developmental stages. Extensive research has been performed on Basidiomycetes.
